InterSystems provides an extension for Visual Studio Code and GitHub repositories to access your code samples along with you can browse and contribute many sample codes.

Steps to download the InterSystem IRIS Community Edition:
Please go with this tutorial:
1. Open this URL (https://download.intersystems.com/download/register.csp) in your browser tab or click on below button.
2. Fill the basic details in the form (Required fields are highlighted in blue)
3. Select from the list:
- Product: “InterSystems IRIS Community Edition“
- Platform: “Microsoft Windows Server 2012, Server 2016, Server 2019, 10 for x86-64“
- Install Type: “.exe“
Then click on “Download” button.
4. Go to your download location and install it via pressing double click on icon.
5. Select “I accept the terms in the license agreement” and then click on “Next” button.
6. Select your instance Name
7. Select installation folder
8. Select “Development” from the available option (It contains all the features)
9. Select “unicode” (For upto 8bit system)
10. Please pay attention here it is most important, here you have to select “Normal” or “Locked Down” option otherwise it will conflict to open Management Portal.
11. Select local and server installation.
12. Select “Password” for _system
13. Select “Password” for CSP System
14. Check the installation configurations and click on “Install” button.
15. After Installation click on “Finish” button.
16. Select InsterSystems IRIS icon from all hidden apps at the bottom toolbar.
17. Then click right on the InsterSystems IRIS icon, here you will be able to see all the applications available in InterSystems IRIS.
18. Now you can enjoy your application environment. Select Username as “_system” and Password as same as you enter during installation.
