2. (a) What is the purpose of using address modes? Write different types of address nodes with suitable examples.
(b) What is op-code? Explain the general format for the memory reference instructions and write six important memory reference instruction.

3. (a) Compare the characteristics of RISC and CISC computers.
(b) With the help of neat diagram, explain the concept of pipe-lining and its advantages.
4. (a) Write the major instructions of RISC processor with syntax.
(b) What is vector processing? Why is it used? What are the major advantages?

(b) Subtract (1001)2 from (1110)2 using 2’s complement method.
6. (a) What are the advantages of 2’s complement method?
